My mom lived there for eight years before she passed away two years ago. The staff doesn't treat them like a job or a patient, this one girl would come over and hug my mom and kiss her on the cheek. They had a lady that came in and they would sing along and they did bingo and they had other little things that they could do.
Orchard Grove has a wide and varied programme of social events and activities is determined by residents with support from the full time Activity Co-ordinator. There is a cinema room with a large screen, comfortable arm chairs and views over the courtyard. The registered manager is highly motivated, enthusiastic and child-focused. She has provided stability and consistency since she transferred to the home. She has made significant improvements in the level of care and management oversight. The manager is supported by two knowledgeable and experienced deputy managers who work together positively to motivate the staff team”.
Services and Amenities of Orchard Grove Residences
We went to look at Orchard Grove Residences. The rooms were much smaller, and there were no cooking facilities. Their living area was smaller since it was only for a group of either five to six rooms. They had a fireplace which made it warm and more friendly. But when we were there, no one was there sitting in it. Everything seems small maybe it's because people have a lot more stuff.
Others also provide nursing, and will have a nurse on duty twenty-four hours a day. My mom has been at the Residence at Orchard Grove for almost 7 months. She is memory impaired and in a wheelchair.

Her room has a huge window and a bathroom twice as big as the one I have at home! It was the first community I have ever visited in this area that was set up in this way, I believe they call it "small house" but truly it is set up like a nice new home with room mates. So much more comfortable than an apartment style building in my opinion. The staff was very accommodating in welcoming us to dinner even though we just dropped in on them.

We went with The Residence at Orchard Grove because they were willing to waive the up front fee for us. The communication with the director up top the point that mu uncle actually went into the facility was wonderful. Once he was here there were a few issues that did arise and the communication was poor and I was disappointed with that. They had plenty of great activities provided for the residents but he did not participate. I would definitely recommend them to others looking, overall the quality of care is top notch in my opinion.

The people are very caring and ensure my mom integrates with the traditional assisted living as well as with residence living in the memory care. The socialization has actually helped her memory quite a bit. The activities staff groups the outings in a way that they are with different people which I think is great. The food is excellent and I enjoy joining my mom on Friday’s for appetizers and a glass of wine during their Happy Hour. The facility is beautiful and her apartment is a good size.
